SMARTSHAPE

The SMARTSHAPE project has started!

We are excited to share that our SMARTSHAPE project has kicked off. In the upcoming years, the SMARTSHAPE consortium will focus on developing a novel device for continuous blood pressure monitoring.

If elevated blood pressure is poorly controlled, it can have serious adverse health effects such as heart failure or stroke, amongst others. Therefore, SMARTSHAPE wants to develop a smart continuous blood pressure monitoring device. Continuous measurements will provide key information for early diagnosis, patient-specific treatment, and preventive care.

The project is coordinated by Prof. William Wijns from the University of Galway, Ireland, a partner in CÚRAM, SFI Research Centre for Medical Devices.
