Katarina Jood is Professor of Neurology and a senior vascular neurologist at the Sahlgrenska Academy and Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. Professor Jood has a special interest in the acute treatment of ischemic stroke, stroke in young adults, rare causes of stroke, and cerebral venous thrombosis. She has authored more than 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is a Fellow of the European Stroke Organization (ESO). She has served as Principal Investigator for several clinical studies, and leads or collaborates on multiple international research initiatives. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the ESO working group on Guidelines for Stroke in the Young and is part of the leadership team of the International Cerebral Venous Thrombosis Consortium.
